BIBLE STORY: Genesis 15: 1- 6

BIG IDEA: Believe God will keep his promises.

“Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.’” -Genesis 15:6

OVERVIEW: God’s promises are good. God is always faithful and wants us to be faithful as well. God made several good promises to Abram. He promised Abram’s descendants would become a great nation. He promised Abram’s name will be great throughout the Earth, and all people will be blessed through him. God always keeps His promises. He is asking us to believe Him. While God never promises HOW He will provide for us (materially, relationally, etc), He always promises He WILL provide for us.

KEY QUESTION: Do you find it easy or hard to believe in God’s promises? Why or why not?

ACTIVITY: Watch this clip from Charlie Brown together as a family:

QUESTIONS: Did Charlie Brown believe Lucy in the clip? Did Lucy keep her promise with the football? Do you think God is like Lucy? If so, why? If not, why not?
