BIBLE STORY: Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7

BIG IDEA: God wants us to trust Him with everything.

KEY VERSE: “Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

-Genesis 18:14

OVERVIEW: Abraham and Sarah TRUSTED God to keep His promises, even when they were impatient. God asks us to trust Him, even when it seems what He is saying is impossible. That might mean trusting God when we give up something for a friend or sharing our possessions with others or when someone hurts our feelings.

KEY QUESTION: What is something you feel God might be asking you to trust Him with?

ACTIVITY: With older children, you could do trust falls. With younger children, you could use a blindfold and have them lead one another around, helping them to trust they will be led to the desired destination.

QUESTIONS: Why is it difficult to trust people? Can we trust God? How is God different from regular people like us?
